Remember to pack the heavier gear at the top of your Bug out Bag to keep the weight off your lower back and to help you maintain balance while hiking.

When it comes to storing food, make sure you:
Keep your food in pest proof containers.
Store nutrient dense food with long shelf life.
Make sure you are stocking food you will actually want to eat.
STORE WATER!

Question: Given the variety of possible "Doomsday" scenarios, What one place do you believe holds the optimal chances for you to survive any of those scenarios?

If there was a Disaster where you live and you were stranded without communication would you and your family be prepared? Would your relatives know where to find you if they saw something horrible on the news? Do you have multiple phase plans for more local emergencies to a more broad preparation and fallout plan? Are your wife and kids as aware of these plans as you would like them to be?
