At least three people have died in a shooting at a
large shopping centre in Columbia in Maryland, and police asked people
inside the mall to stay in place while it was searched. News reports said that the mall, located about 45 minutes outside the US capital, was on "lockdown" because of an "active shooter situation." A 911 call at about 11:15am Eastern Time (1615 GMT) reported that shots had been fired at the Mall, Howard County Police said on Twitter. Police did not immediately know the identities of the dead, but said one of the people was believed to be the shooter. |
